Extreme hike!
17th mathematical hike is planned on July 21st. Every participant will contribute to determine the path by a dice roll on predetermined crossroads. Thus it will be (not entirely) random walk all day (possibility to leave anytime), approximately 50 km.
Meet at the tram stop "Řečkovice" at 6am (so we have enough time).

16th mathematical hike - June 23rd 2018 |

Dear Friends of Mathematics and Hikes,
You are cordially invited to the 16th mathematical hike planned on June 23rd 2018.
Start at 9:17 at the train stop in Rožná. We go by train at 8:06 from the main train station in Brno (zones 100+101+ 6 additional).
We have planned a hike of 25 km going by the castle Pernštejn, over the hills and through some small villages. You can end the hike after 8.5 km at the train stop in Nedvědice (after visiting the castle). We plan to officially end at the train stop in Borač, return to Brno by train (zones 100+101+ 4 additional).
We wish you a successful exam period and a nice summer.

The Assembly of the department took place on May23, from 4pm in the lecture hall M1.
Program was following:
1) Information on the new scheme of lectures according to the new accreditation (Jan Paseka)
2) Brief overview of the running and newly submitted projects (the team leaders)
3) Brief review of the development of the department before the last year of the director's mandate (director)
4) Miscellaneous.

15th mathematical hike - May 19th 2018 |

Dear Friends of Mathematics and Hikes,
You are hereby cordially invited to our mathematical hike planned on May 19th 2018.
Meet at ÚAN Zvonařka, bus stop number 42, at 7:50.
We go by bus to Velká Bíteš (the bus is not part of IDS JMK), then go through the valley of "Bílý potok". We go through a finite sequence of fords. The official ending is planned in Veverská Bítýška (27 km). Another possible endindg is at bus stop in Maršov (20 km ... 18 km through the valley of "Bílý potok" + 2 km additional). Return to Brno by bus (zones 100+101+ 2 additional from Veverská Bítýška/ 3 additional from Maršov).

14th mathematical hike - April 14th 2018 |

Dear Friends of Mathematics and Hikes,
You are invited to our 14th mathematical hike. It will take place on April 14th 2018.
Start at 09:30 at the tram stop "Vozovna Komín".
We have planned a hike of 12 km going through "Holedná" enclosure and natural reserve "Kamenný vrch".
