Equational Theory of Regular Languages

The AutoMathA Brainstorming and Cooperation Days meeting on Equational Theory of Regular Languages will take place at the Department of Mathematics and Statistics of the Masaryk University from 5th to 6th March 2009. The goal of the workshop is to have advanced discussions on recent developments in the theory of regular languages and their connection with equational theories and profinite monoids.

How to get to Brno

From Prague airport

We recommend to take bus AE (tickets can be bought from the driver for 45 Kč) to the main station and then direct train to Brno. Alternatively, one can use ordinary city transport (two changes: bus 119, metro A, metro C) to get to Praha-Holešovice station with better connections to Brno.

Take bus to Südbahnhof and then direct train to Brno.

Take bus 61 to the main station and then direct train to Brno.

From Brno airport

During day bus 76 goes to the main station. At night bus 89 goes directly almost to the hotel (get off at Česká).

Currency:   current exchange rate: 1 euro = 28-30 Kč

Accommodation

Accommodation for participants is provided in hotel Continental, Kounicova 6 (number 2 on the map). Hotel reservations are arranged by workshop organizers. The hotel is situated within walking distance of the main station (15 minutes). If needed, you can use tram 1 in the direction of Řečkovice to get closer to the hotel (get off at Moravské náměstí).

Workshop location

The workshop will take place at the Department of Mathematics and Statistics, which is situated on the campus of the Faculty of Natural Sciences on Kotlářská 2 (number 3 on the map, 10 minutes walk from the hotel).

Equipment of the lecture room: data projector & computer, visualizer, whiteboard.

Internet connection: Wireless connection will be available both in the hotel and at the department. Access to several desktop computers will be provided.

The workshop is supported by the AutoMathA project of the European Science Foundation (ESF). Therefore, the support of the ESF should be acknowledged in every publication resulting from the event, and a reprint should be sent to the ESF.
