The Department of Mathematics and Statistics of the Faculty of Science, Masaryk University guarantees teaching programmes of Mathematics and Applied mathematics. The teaching staff give also lectures on mathematics in teaching programmes ensured by other Faculty Departments or Faculties of the University.

The Department does research in pure and applied mathematics.
