Here you can find pictures which documment my stay and travelling in New Zealand. This country has wonderful reputation which doesn't exaggerate ...

In the beginning of 2004, I had been travelling with Milan and Honza over New Zealand for three weeks. Details about the travel (and New Zealand in general) are on Honza's web or you can look directly at my selection of pictures. We had visited the most famous places in New Zealand including Tongariro, Milford Sound, glaciers on the west coast of the south island and many others.

Waitakere, 21 Aug 2004 (west of Auckland). Trip to the highest point of the Waitakere Ranges (Te Toiokawharu, 459 m) and Upper and Lower Huia Reservoir.

Kaimais, 29-30 Aug 2004 (Coromandel peninsula). Trip from Hot Springs Road (south from Katikati) via Te Rereatukahia Hut and visit of Mt Maunganui (232 m) in Tauranga.

Waikaremoana, 3-7 Sep 2004. Trip around the lake Waikaremoana (one of the great walks in New Zealand) and visit of the Bay of Plenty on the east coast on the way back.

Kaimais, 2-3 Oct 2004 (Coromandel peninsula). Trip from Karangahake Gorge to Daly's Clearing Hut including a side trip to Karangahake Peak (544 m) and the way back through wonderful gorge of Waitawheta river. There are many tunnels in the gorge which remind gold mining in Coromandel and a short tunnel loop track.

Pouakai Range, 14-16 Nov 2004 (Mt Taranaki). A 3 (or possibly 2) days track in North Egmont via Pouakai and Holly Hut. There are presumably wonderful views to Mt.Taranaki but since we enjoyd rain and fog the whole time, we saw hardly each other ...

Around Napier, 6-11 Jan 2005 (Hawke's bay on the east coast). A visit of the city, hiking around (Te Mata Peak, Maraetotara Plateau) and a climb of Mt Kaweka (1700m), the highest peak in Kaweka Forest Park.

Poreora forest, 26-27 Feb 2005. Trip through Waihaha valley via Waihaha hut.

Muriwai beach, 19 Mar 2005. Tasman sea west of Auckland and Waitakere Range.

Umukarikari track, 22-23 Apr 2005 (Kaimanawa Range). A two days track with a wonderful view to Tongariro National Park.

Rafting on Kaituna river, 29 Apr 2005 (Rotorua).

Cape Brett, 2-3 Jul 2005 (Bay of Islands, Northland). A two dyas track to the lighthouse at the end of the peninsula and back with view of Bay of Islands.
