PSSL68 - Peripatetic Seminar on Sheaves and Logic, BRNO
29-30 August, 1998,
General Information
The PSSL is an informal conference which is held in Europe
about three times a year.
It covers applications of category theory
in areas such as theoretical computer science,
logic, topology, commutative
algebra and geometry.
It was begun by Dana Scott in Oxford in 1975 and has so far held
66 meetings.
The academic business of the PSSL usually extends from Saturday morning
until Sunday lunchtime.
Typically either a party or a restaurant meal (the "PSSL-up")
is organised on Friday or Saturday evening, or sometimes both.
The success of the PSSL lies in its informality.
No-one is in overall charge: meetings are organised by those people
in our community who want to organise them.
There is usually no conference fee, and the organisers of each meeting
try to keep acommodation costs to the minimum.
The programme is traditionally decided on Saturday morning.
A
first announcement,
including detailed information about registration and
accommodation here in Brno, will be sent out in May on the
categories mailing list.
All relevant information will be posted as well on this page.
